Description
This study aims to develop a real-time flood monitoring and early warning system designed to connect IoT sensors with mobile applications, providing instant alerts and emergency coordination tools for barangay communities.
The system features real-time water level monitoring through IoT sensors that continuously track flood levels at strategic locations. When water levels cross predefined thresholds, the system automatically classifies alert levels and triggers multi-channel notifications including push notifications and SMS alerts to ensure no resident misses critical warnings.
The application integrates interactive Google Maps with flood hazard zone visualization, allowing users to see flood-prone areas, submit flood reports, and emergency services locations. Additionally, the system implements community communication features including barangay chat for real-time messaging between residents and officials, and emergency SOS functionality for immediate assistance requests.
The proposed system offers a scalable and accessible solution, leveraging advancements in IoT technology, cloud computing, and mobile development to improve disaster preparedness, enhance community coordination during emergencies, and potentially save lives through timely evacuation warnings.
How IPROG SMS Was Used
- • Real-time SMS alerts for water level threshold crossings
- • Critical flood warnings sent to all registered residents and officials
- • Emergency SOS notifications to barangay officials and emergency responders
- • Automated SMS broadcasting during critical flood situations
